The Teton Dam Races were this past Saturday sooooo I signed up and ran the half marathon race! I haven't raced since high school (my cross-country 3 mile races) so I was pretty nervous before the race started. It didn't help that my alarm didn't go off that morning so I woke up at 6 instead of leaving at 6! There were lots of runners lined up and since I'm not working towards speed I started in the back of the "pack". Once we got running I moved forward to more of the center where I stayed the rest of the race. Jer's Mom and a bunch of ladies she works with walked or ran in the 5k to the half marathon and they all wore the shirt "Run for Emmy" (I was also given one to wear!) This race supports cystic fibrosis research and Lori's coworker, Leisle, has a 3 month old with CF. Leisle and I ran together from miles 2-12; she was met with Emmy in the jogging stroller so she could take her through the finish line! Other than a small side ache at mile 3, a sore right knee at mile 8, hill after hill from miles 6-10, and feeling like I aged 50 years in 2 hours 17 minutes, I am SO glad I did this race! We're still planning on the marathon this fall... Jer had to leave Saturday morning and will be gone for 4 weeks for military training but he knocked out 15 miles the other day so don't worry about him!
Looks like I'm clapping at the start of the race?!? I think I was just cold!
The races have volunteer cheer people and I heard two girls cheering my name... then I saw Tyler standing there (I was wondering how they knew my name!) My awesome bro came to cheer me on, he took this picture just before mile 12 then drove around and met me at the finish line.I'm about 10 seconds away from the FINISH LINE! My time was 2 hr. 17 min

Lori did something between a 3 mile and 6 mile race :) Originally she was going to walk the 6 but instead ran partway with the 3 milers she knew. Since she got ahead of her walkin' group, she kinda took a wrong turn but still found the finish line! She just likes to keep life interesting!!!

Here's the dude that beat me to my own starting line and finish line just to cheer me on and take pictures! He's thinking about doing a triathlon, I would cheer you on Ty!!!

My parents took care of Troy and Brock for me that morning; as you can see from the birthday wish picture, it was my Mom's BDay, thanks again you two!
