Lately a few people have commented on how well Troy and Brock get along and do EVERYTHING together. Brock does really good keeping up with his big brother and it's awesome to see this friendship they have already developed at an early age! For their bedtime since they share a room, I've always had Brock go to sleep first, then I get Troy ready and send him to bed after I knew Brock was asleep. Now that Brock isn't such a light sleeper I've been getting them both ready at the same time, going to bed together. I was afraid they would stay up and jibber jabber to each other or tease each other but they do really good and stay in their beds and fall right asleep! Brock insists that Troy goes to bed with him at night now (I should have been doing this sooner!) As soon as I say it's time to go pick out a story book for bed, Brock says, "c'mon Toy, book! c'mon Toy, bed!" Here's a little update on what my boys have been up to:
Troy's been asking to have his picture taken lately (I'm glad I haven't scared him away from all the pictures I take!) He told me to take this pic the other morning and he wanted Brock to be in it with him (awwww!)
Troy and G'pa caught a few caterpillars and we were able to watch them turn into cocoons, then butterflies! Troy had high hopes of catching the butterflies once we let them go outside but the butterflies had their freedom in mind and didn't allow that to happen!
Grandpas will do anything for their grand kids! G'pa J. pushed these two around the lawn for a little while. It wouldn't surprise me if he has this machine working by now just so he doesn't have to be the "pusher" again!
The boys finished off their Library Summer Reading with their free ice cream tickets. The library made for an awesome summer for these two: Free movie passes, swimming passes, weekly prizes, books to keep, beach-bucket prizes, party at the lake with bounce houses, and icecream! And yes, Brock insists on eating his cone from the bottom up!
Troy decided to have a slumber party with a few stuffed animals one night. He slept great, even while sharing his little bed.
Brock figured out he fits through the doggy-door at G'ma Johnson's....
And since they like to do everything together, Troy had to try it out too.
Troy wanted to draw a picture of a monster the other morning. After drawing this, he told me the story that goes with (while I wrote it on the back of the paper):
"Harry! Be safe by the monster! It will spray with orange juice in the water bottle!" Harry is safe by the giant monster. Harry says, "GIANT!" The end.
Love the imagination/story telling of a three-yr-old!

Morgan loved the picture Troy made and she really liked the story. She thought it was kind of funny. Glad to hear the boys are good friends and go right to sleep for you. Love the doggie door photos!
