I spent close to an hour yesterday reminiscing, with myself, by looking back through my blog. I am so glad that I have given "lacysfamilyjournal" all of the time and effort so that my family has a small record of our lives; my blog is my electronic journal and scrapbook. I still have more reminiscing to do; I only made it back to December of 2010 and loved watching my barely turned two-year-old Brock sing his ABCs and Twinkle Twinkle (
Brock-Star Singing ).
With the holidays, birthdays, and parties that have happened lately, I thought I'd add a few random-happenings from inbetween these events from my phone and camera of "the Johnson's", for memories sake. I say 'Johnson's' but since a lot of my focus has to be on Cael lately...you'll see why... he makes up the majority of the pics.

| I think Cael is our biggest rough-houser. He loves wrestling with the boys and will often sit on Brock's head. He loves piggy-back rides, too. |

Sad Face:( Jer worked quite a few night shifts during October and November. I rEalLy diSliKe when he has to work nights!! Jer doesn't mind these shifts but it stresses me out and makes my lack of routine thrown off even worse. One Sunday morning as I was trying to get myself ready for church after wrangling the kids all morning, I had to go into my bathroom to get my hair drying so I could use it in the boys' bathroom to avoid waking up Jer. During that minute of time, Cael reached up on the counter and got ahold of Troy's sonic care toothbrush. I had just stepped into the boys' bathroom and saw Cael standing behind me, with the toothbrush in his mouth. Right as I turned to take it away from him he fell on it and I saw it jam into his mouth:( He instantly started to bleed and I could see the roof of his mouth was scratched but I couldn't tell if it injured the back of his throat because of the pooling blood. We bagged church and headed into urgent care. His exam showed that his throat was just fine. He was given a sticker for being such a good boy and has LOVED stickers since. |

| We got to puppy sit for a few days for one of Jer's co-workers. This little pup was SO adorable. We all loved having a pet and look forward to getting one in a few years |
 |
Troy was the first one awake and had gotten himself all ready for school before I was even out of bed that morning; he couldn't wait to take care of Jack. Troy really had to fight to hold back his tears when he got off at the bus stop and saw that the owners had already picked up their pup. I told Jer that if having an animal would get Troy up and ready in the mornings, it would be worth it to get a dog right now; we all know how long that routine would happen though!
And here is a taste of what Cael's curiosity has included lately: |
I resorted to tying these chairs together to keep Cael from using them to reach into the kitchen drawers. This system only "allowed" him to reach into one drawer and the baggies were always the first box to come out.
 |
Gun Safe.
We had to hide it since this button pusher was trying to hack the code. |
Tippy-toes, stairs, and light switches.
 |
| Once in a while the dishwasher door doesn't get locked shut. Cael has a sixth sense and knows when it's unlocked. |
drawer digging.
I found him holding onto this drawer for dear life one day. The drawer opened further than his toes could reach the chair. He got right back onto that horse.
 |
Cael has new lenses. So convenient that not even a week after getting them and he has figured out how to pop them out of their frames. It's like finding a needle in a haystack... ok not quite but he does throw things, a lot, and is really good at hiding things too. |
Proof that we do have toys for him to play with.

I just want to wash my hands! Cael's last "chair adventure". I removed these problematic kids' table and chairs so they are no longer in the kitchen causing temptation. I know that for many parents this isn't anything new. For us, though, it is. Jer and I can only remember Troy crawling up onto a table once, Brock never did. I told Cael we don't want any broken bones and he needs to cut this habit.
The bottom third section of our Christmas tree is a little bare, we have a few presents that have almost been opened, our kitchen chairs have to be pushed under the table or Cael has learned to distract us and then run to the table and in the blink of an eye he is on top of it, my kitchen drawer of towels and washcloths is always emptied onto the kitchen floor, our toilets have had a few too many things plopped into them (my new heated mattress pad was almost remote-less. Rice to the rescue!) And the pots and pans under the oven are always in the way of Cael needing to sit in the oven drawer. He's my first to enter the terrible two's before turning three. |
 |
| Brock shook the dummies arm a little too vigorously. |
 |
| It's o.k. to stay out late on a school night once in while; especially when it's because Grandpa's is town! We meet up with Bryan between one of his long-haul drives for dinner. The boys crashed on the drive home. |

| This pic needs to be added to my previous post. Not gonna happen, it looks just fine right here. |
