July was such a fun month. We had something fun going on the entire month as we geared up for Jer to start work and shortly after that, the boys starting school. Jer's Aunt invited us to their cabin in Island Park the last weekend of the month, it was the icing on the cake for an amazing month.
We bought a few tubes and a raft so we could float Big Springs while we were there. That itself was an adventure... for Jer! Prepping alone is a lot of work, but then he had to drop us off, then drive and park our Pilot down stream, then catch a ride back up to the drop zone, then keep everyone happy! Really it was a fun time, but it felt like we were floating forever!
The last stretch was long for some of us. In their defense, we were barely moving at times. At one point Troy got out to to push us along faster and he lost a flip flop. He was already over the adventure and was getting worked up over losing a flip flop (Brock lost one the last time these two floated big springs) So Jer hopped out of his tube to see if he could locate in buried in the mud, under water, and got a charley horse in his calf. We didn't know what was going on so when Jer yelled, grabbed his leg and fell backwards into the tube, with a face screaming pure agony, Troy and Brock and I freaked out thinking something in the water was eating him alive! After everyone calmed down jer decided he'd had enough of the river so he grabbed the tubes and pulled us the rest of the way!!
We had fun riding to the top of Sawtelle in the Oswald's 4-seater. Crew stayed at the cabin with Renee and took a nap.
We love driving in to West Yellowstone anytime we go to Island Park or Yellowstone specifically for this yummy ice-cream and to grab taffies from the fun candy shop. Jer is a huckleberry fan. I devoured my chocolate. They boys loved it all.
We drove home through Mesa Falls and watched some crazy kayakers go down the falls. The boys loved it and Troy, thinks he's going to do that some day. I will not encourage that.
