We're Running One!

For $80 there's a hUgE list of things I could easily go out and buy. So what do you think Jer and I spent $80 on? Our registration to run the Pocatello MARATHON!

I remember reading a story in my 3rd grade class about a marathon runner and ever since it has been a goal for me to run one; but I've put it on the very bottom of things to do. The itch resurfaced when I was 7 months prego with Troy (2.5 years ago) I worked at an orthopedic office and we had a few marathon runners with knee problems come in. At the time I couldn't even imagine running again but thought it was SO awesome these ladies who had young children could accomplish such a huge race.

I picked up on running again in January and I'm up to 6.2 miles for my long run. 20 more miles on top of that is still hard to imagine but Jer and I know we can make it!!! (We're working on the gradual training program since the race isn't until September.)

We're both up for lots of encouragement so we're not keeping this a secret (otherwise we'd turn into wusses and back out!) Plus, that $80 is nonrefundable and I'm not big on blowing my $$ :)

Cool! I would like to take up running. We are looking at getting a treadmill since we can't run outside all winter long. But I'm not so sure I would want to do a marathon. Good Luck to both of you!
