We've been excited for months waiting for my parent's vacation to visit us. We were on the go, go, go the WHOLE time and loved every minute with them!
We took them to our favorite "exploration" beach, Burfoot, and my Dad found a huge sea snail…something new for all of us!
This pic shows the huge, ugly snail partially in his shell
And the big shell
There were about four of these big, beached jellyfish. Troy got too carried away with his exploring and accidentally stepped on a stinger. It stung him pretty good but he felt much better after he heard Brock "killed" it by throwing a rock at it (or it was just the sting removal remedy kicking in which he wasn't too impressed with doing either ;)
We caught a ferry outside of Seattle and drove up the Whidbey Island. It was a quick ferry ride but the kids had fun.
adults too!
At Deception Pass
The fog rolling in looked so neat, it was crazy how chilly the fog was!
One more view
My parents reserved a hotel in Seattle that we stayed in after Whidbey Island so we could get up and head to Pike's Place (we haven't been there since my parent's last visit in November!)
Had to show Troy and Brock the huge fountain. It was a hit. They were wishing they had their swimming suits; not that they didn't swim for hours at the hotel!
Enjoying lunch at the Space Needle Restaurant. Our only pic with all of us together courtesy of the restaurant! We had beautiful weather all week and enjoyed a great view again.
Loving dessert
We found the gum wall by Pike's Place. We can now say we've been there, done that, and each left a piece of gum behind.
Brock posing with his first CD of Morrison Boomer (band playing at Pike's Place). He was shakin it for the crowd and clapping the loudest after each song; guess he loves their style!
AND we hit up the zoo.
These boys love feeding the birds
A zoo flower favorite :)
Squeezing in a snooze before heading out again. I love this pic.
G'pa and Troy fed a hungry seagull; Troy's pic is off focus but it would have been perfect! Jer bought me a new lens that day so I was having fun taking pics of everything, love my new lens (as long as I focus on the right object!)
And we finished by sharing a Mt. Rainier at a favorite Olympia restaurant. We all loved spending a fun-packed week with these guys and already can't wait til see them again!

Fun! It's always nice to have Grandma and Grandpa come for a visit. That gum wall is gross! Your hair is getting long - I don't think I have ever seen it that long before. Have fun with Cory this weekend!
