Jer took us for a drive to Mt. Rainier yesterday. We had time to go for a little hike and really enjoyed how gorgeous it was up there on the big volcano. The boys didn't want to leave!
Today we sent Troy into the "real world". I am so glad that he's been excited for school and he ended up really enjoying his first day. Jer stayed home with the little brothers while I took Troy to class. It was a tear jerker seeing how grown up and independent he has become. A few tears slipped out as I left my big guy but luckily it was after leaving his classroom. When I picked him up his teacher said he is an excellent student.
I asked Troy today what he wants to be when he grows up. His reply was that he has lots of options; so I asked him if anything sounds interesting. These are his current interests:
Police Officer
Scientist
Boss
Airplane Guy

We've been preparing Troy, talking about what to expect and what we expect of him. Yesterday after the school's open house I realized how nervous I was. He is such a sweet heart; his past preschool teachers have loved him and he's always had oodles of friends so we hope he'll continue be a good example to oodles of friends (He came home saying that a classmate has ALREADY been sent to the principles office; holy smokes times have changed since I was in kindergarten!!!)
Brock missed Troy during the few hours he was at school but he can't wait to start preschool in a few short weeks!
And for memories sake here's his first day of preschool one year ago:
