Before the Vacation

Early this year Jer and I decided to go on a vacation. Just the two of us. It was a bit of a pinch just to get it scheduled in. We would have loved to go earlier in the Spring, but I didn't want to leave Cael for that long of a period before he turned one (which he would have been just fine with, actually). But we also had Jer's work to schedule around, and then Troy's last day of Kindergarten was June 12th. So after throwing a few ideas around, we offered to fly my Mom here so Troy could finish his school year. She also had a busy month, first watching my brother's two dogs while he and his wife were on vacation, then our boys, then my sister's kids while they went on vacation! The boys ended up getting SPOILED double time because my dad drove here with my mom. Cael got oodles of Grandma time and Troy and Brock kept Grandpa on the go! We were able to spend time together the day before and after our vacation. We opted to play a cut-throat game of croquet. For the record, Brock won thanks to a few cheats, I snuck in second, and I think Jer is STILL trying to make it through that darn #3 hoop :)

We cut the game short when the icrecream truck made an appearance. Grandpa started the boys off with the first of many treats. They were in heaven!

Since our Kauai, Hawaii vacation was our gift to each other for our ten year anniversary, we had a very low key celebration on our actual anniversary day. Guess what. Jer still treated me to a box of chocolates. Anyone who knows me well knows how I eat my chocolates. One nibble at a time from every.single.one.

Now where are those vacation pictures??? Hanging out on my external hard drive, waiting for my very much missed Macbook Pro to finish up getting fixed in Washington...DC.
