Trunk or Treat and Trick or Treat

These boys don't just put on costumes for Halloween, they get into character. Brock's favorite super hero and movie is Dash from "The Incredibles". For the past few years he has jumped on board with Troy's excitement about Halloween, wanting to have the same costume as Troy. Troy encouraged Brock to chose his own costume this year. It didn't take many suggestions before he had his heart set on being Dash. This was "the" homemade costume for the year. I enjoy making things once in a while and Halloween is the perfect opportunity to put the sewing machine to work (plus you save SO much!) Cael's dinosaur started with Troy's as an almost two-yr-old and Jer has sported his homemade Peter Pan costume for a few years now. Maybe I'll have a little more time and plan ahead for a new costume for the both of us for next year. And get this. Troy's vampire cape would have been so easy to make, but, I bought it. I don't make much sense to myself sometimes.
Blonde hair spray made our red head a fiery orange head. Close enough, Brock loved it!
I was laughing at how different Troy's hair and makeup made him look. Laughter is contagious and soon the scary vampire was laughing with me.. these pictures crack me up!
Jer has been working night shifts so he was able to see the boys all costumed-up before we went our separate ways for the night. The pumpkin in the left pic has a sly grin; must be from his good view of Peter Pan's derriere.
Not many years ago we had a little Troy-rannosaurs Rex, Newborn Brock-osaurus, and now our little Cael-oraptor.
I let Cael get a few treats (even though I knew the big guys would bring home more than enough) and he couldn't wait to dig in
We hit up our neighborhood after the ward Trunk-or-Treat. The weather was perfect! These boys made a candy haul. Cael caught on and tried his hardest to keep up with the boys as they ran up to each door. He would hold up his bag and as soon as a piece of candy was dropped in he would try to sit down just to pull it out and eat it.
After handing out all of our candy to trick-or-treaters, the boys shared a few big handfuls from their own stash. I think they had just as much fun passing out candy as it was collecting it!
