We've been looking forward to doing a few things for Memorial Day this year. In Idaho my family always visits the cemetery, since living here in Washington we've never gone anywhere special for the holiday.
This year our family was able to visit our hero's memorial at the Madigan Hospital.
This sweet boy is honored to say that his first crush is a true American Hero. "In her last moments of life, Army nurse Capt. Jennifer Moreno heard two orders. One was a call to help a wounded soldier struck by a blast in a booby-trapped killing field at an Afghanistan bomb-making compound. The other was a command to stay put lest she strike another mine in the bomb belt. The nurse from Madigan Army Medical Center chose to help the wounded soldier, and gave her life trying." We also went to the Fort Lewis cemetery. The cemetery is in a quiet, peaceful area tucked back in the trees.
