If Cael takes you on a date, he might choose to take you to the library. Don't be surprised if he climbs inside the cardboard castle, because that's where princes belong. Treat him like a prince and he'll treat you like a princess.
He'll then invite you to listen during story time and get really excited when the story is about a bee. If you pretend to sting him like a bee, he'll giggle. Then he'll jump up and down, run circles around you, and dance all during the story. Just remind him that he needs to be quiet so the other listeners can hear. He'll simmer down soon enough. Or not.
You'll want to make a little room for his favorite stuffed animal to join the fun with you. "Nuts" the squirrel was generously bequeathed to him from his big brother, Brock.
Don't forget to get a stamp. It's always exciting to see what the stamp will be for the day.
Build a few block towers together. Don't expect them to stand too long. A certain someone enjoys knocking them over.
Walk up and down the book isles and wave to everyone passing by. Who doesn't do this on their library dates?
Cael might want to hold your hand as you leave but it will only be briefly. If there's rocks to pick up, dirt to run in, trees to peek around, he'll probably prefer those.
After the library, head over to target and buy him a pretzel. He'll give you the sweetest, hammiest, cheesiest smile he can muster.
If you treat him to homemade dinner, you'll need to keep a watchful eye on him. He's known for finding a superglue tube, biting into it, and getting glue all over his mouth. Just wipe the glue out as fast as you can. If the glue hardens, you'll need to pick the chunks out from his top four teeth. You're thumb nail will be rough and gluey for weeks from saving his mouth from sealing shut. Don't worry, it'll grow out.
He'll probably spit and drool because the glue tastes nasty. He'll open his mouth big a wide for you so you can get all of the glue out.
Throw extra broccoli onto his plate for dinner. This should counterbalance any ingested superglue.
Sigh. Smile. Prepare for the next adventure with this little charm.
