Hawaii - Wave Two

We all really enjoyed the Luau; especially the kids, of course! Mom chose a really fun one with lots of extras to do before the eating and performing started. The kids had fun twirling around the Poi Balls:

Getting their decor on! They loved their woven headbands and put together their flower bracelets with a little help:

Then, they were all set to spear a target:

We had fun entertainment while we ate

the kids were able to go on stage a few times; we have four little center stage dancers!

dancing away; getting DOWN!

They had the girls and guys each go up; Dad, Sandy, and Jer can HuullAaa!!!

Here's the guys; Jer was really doing the hula!

I skipped out on entertaining the crowd; remember I mentioned my edema? Here's my fluffy, sore legs and feet. So funny looking! My ankles are barely there!

We were amazed at how fast this coconut picker could climb; I would have missed him climbing the palm tree if I blinked!

And the boys favorite performance of the night; the guy who "ate" fire!

He was crazy good spinning his fire around!

With this being our first ever Luau, it was definitely a great one! (Brock did NOT want to be in the picture!)

But Troy's smile says a lot in this picture ;)

And the next day; back to the beach!
Troy is still fearless of the water and held is own pretty good against the waves. He couldn't get enough "wave surfing"; riding along the top of the waves:

Here's a series of him going down with the wave as it folded over (he had a pretty great cheer team with his dad and uncle Sandy)

After the wave gave out and Troy went under with it; Ann had a pretty good angle of him from behind! Yes, we laughed a lot! Troy managed to do a complete somersault by accident once while going off the front of the wave; he rolled over the top of the wave, landed on his head and flipped over to his feet only to get a running push from the wave! Jer thought for sure that would have made him cry but he was so surprised by it that he didn't have time (just a head full of sand!)

Brock could play in the sand for hours

More to come later!

I can't wait for the next "wave" of pics...keep them coming. (Jer still cracks me up with his hula.) Love, Mom
