I was happy to be so close to having our little one with us. I had on and off contractions the closer we got to his c-section date and the morning of the big day Cael let us know that he was going to be born on wednesday no matter what! My surgery was pushed back from 9 am to 11 am, I had to be ready to leave my house by 5 am, but I had pretty much been up since 1:30 that morning with contractions.
They kept me hooked up to the monitors until the surgery because Cael's heart rate would drop during the contractions so we were serenaded by his little heart beats all morning. I was definitely the most nervous for this c-section and was SO glad to finally have the spinal in place and Jeremy in the OR and ready to hear our sweet little one's first cry.
Jeremy did a fantastic job taking pictures with our "can't just pick it up and take a picture" camera. Here is little Cael's first picture!
Showing off his lung volume. He was scored an Apgar rating of nine; one of the residents wanted to score him a perfect ten but the Attending Doc said that tens are never given out. We'll call him perfectly healthy anyways.
Jeremy's first time being able to cut the umbilical cord!
My first look at our sweet baby. (love my temp strip!) And just like what happened after Brock was born, I had a phantom "heart attack" after Cael was born too. My anesthetist explained this feeling coming from pressure in my chest, along with the doctors examining my uterus while it's outside of my body. I guess the body gets confused when organs are removed and can randomly place pain; my anesthetist said sometimes people feel lots of pressure/pain in the should area, some feel in it their neck, some in their chest, it's not predictable. At least this time I knew it wasn't a real heart attack!
Our biggest baby by a half a pound!
Troy was born with quite a bit of brown hair, Brock had a decent amount of red hair, and Cael is the blondest and doesn't quite have as much hair as the older two had.
It was so nice being able to be with my boys while in recovery. Unfortunately, this was only the beginning of a very rough day of nausea for me. It was so hard having to tell the big brothers that they would have to wait a day to come and see their new little brother because I was a wreck (to say the least).
The boys were full of kisses, cuddles, and smiles the next day when they came to visit!
A very proud big brother...or two!
Loves from Grandma Moser
And of course wherever Cael is, you could find these two big guys!
p.s. It has been SO HELPFUL having my mom here! We are loving our time with her!
Peeking at baby bro after his vitals check
And a few sweet little pictures of my newest born's little features
Two days old and ready to head home!
Posing with the beautiful flower bouquet from Grandma and the big brothers
Now at home we are all loving to love on Cael. Brock is excited that they not only share a name but they also share noses.
And Troy is pretty proud that he and his little bro share the same ears.
Cael has the CUTEST little cry and we are all enjoying having our sweet newborn in our home. Now at four days old he is still eating and sleeping like a champ, almost back up to his birth weight and we all love watching the cute little facial expressions that he shares with us.
Thanks to all for the congratulations!

Laci,
He is sooo cute! It is so fun having a newborn again isn't it! Congrats!
He is amazing Lacy! Congrats on your new little man! He looks a lot like Jer in the pics where he's holding him...but that might be because they have the same amount of hair. ;0)
By the way...what the heck do you mean you had a "phantom heart attack"?!
Congrats again!
What a journey he had! So happy he's finally here; he's every bit as handsome as his big brothers and we can't wait to meet him!!
So stinkin' cute!! I can't believe how on top of things you are!! Just a few days old (especially post-op) and you've already got a post up!! You are amazing! And Cael is beautiful!
