So my spanish skills are a little rusty. I'm sure that's the spanish spelling of soccer, though.
I loved, loved, loved having Troy and Brock in soccer! This was Brock's first time playing and Troy's second time on a team. Our boys have pretty sweet skills! Brock caught on quickly and was always focused on the ball. For games this league has both teams rotate three players on the field at a time so each kid gets more dribble time. Another parent, who really drove me crazy (ughh), let me know that Brock was in the top quarter of the team as far as skills go. Brock's personality isn't as aggressive as Troy's in general and that shows in his playing. He's so sweet and would initially back off from the ball when "that parent" was barking at their kid to get the ball, Brock would let them take it, but towards the middle of the season he really picked it up and kept after the ball instead. There were only a few games that Troy and Brock didn't score at.
Troy is ALL OVER the field! He is such a hustler! He's at the age where they're learning more teamwork so it's exciting to see these kids do more than just kick the ball and run. The tempo is so much different from Brock's age group to Troy's group. Jer and I are really looking forward to sports as these boys get older. I love all the running they get to do in soccer and really like that the boys learn about teamwork, good sportsmanship, and patience (four hours a week with two of those hours on saturday mornings can be long, especially for Cael). I also have a better appreciation for most of the parent's behavior. The kids are at a fun age and they all have big smiles while playing. I'll admit it gets exciting and you want your kid to do great but it's always sad to see a pushy, rude parent who needs to lighten up and quit barking at their kid. They need to realize they're talking to a FOUR year old who is there to have fun and not just score score SCORE! tangent over.
Rain, sunshine, and fog made our fall season interesting. We would have loved indoor soccer for a handful of these practices and games but that didn't keep our soccer players from having fun.
