At Troy's last well child check-up he had a little difficulty with the vision chart so we took Brock and Troy in for an eye exam over Christmas break. We had to schedule another appointment for Troy (needing approval from our insurance) because the optometrist thought Troy had a focusing problem related to his depth perception. At the second appointment, they put very strong eye relaxers in his eyes because young and old eyes can really overcompensate when they're having focusing problems so with the eyes relaxed, the doc could tell exactly where the vision issue was. Troy is a little farsighted; it wasn't his depth perception after all but because his eyes were straining it had an affect on objects both near and far.
Troy was happy to hear that he needed glasses. Jer and I were very happy to hear that our crazy-active-boy only needs to wear them while reading and during class at school. We're safe from him needing to wear them during PE, recess, and sports. phew!
Troy was adamant about getting this pair. I was trying to encourage him into liking a different pair, but he is the one that has to wear them. He is mighty handsome in his new spectacles. They're 100x better than my first pair of glasses, ha!
We had a good laugh at the following two. Funny what a change of focus can do do a picture:
