I've often used the phrase "patience is a virtue" but when it comes to the military, I'm guilty of not having enough patience. Seriously, I've seen Jeremy "hurry up and wait" for as long as I've known the guy. Luckily, Jer and I do a pretty good job of balancing each other out when it comes to our weaknesses. He is a dedicated soldier who loves our country. He sets the bar pretty high regarding attitude, commitment, and example of what a soldier should be. As he approaches 14 years of service, our family is proud of our newly promoted Captain.
For Jeremy's promotion ceremony, he asked Brock if he would place on the new Captain bars after Troy removed the First Lieutenant bars which he placed on Jer over two years ago
We were so glad that we left our house early; we barely made it in time since traffic slowed what should have been a 20-25 minute commute to a 1.5 hour interstate crawl. Then, Cael conveniently got upset the moment the ceremony started. I was juggling him and the camera so I wasn't able to really listen to what everyone had to say, plus I had my camera and flash settings flip flopped. But I laughed as I was browsing through the pictures and noticed that Troy pinned himself as our very own 1LT (bottom left)
While getting the boys ready, our oldest let us know that he doesn't like to "dress like a rich kid" all of the time. I told him he could borrow one of my dresses if a tie was seriously that bad.
