School is OUT

School is finally over and the summer break isn't going to last long enough. Our second grade graduate received some fun awards:

  • His classmates voted him most likely to become president
  • His teacher voted him to have best sportsmanship
  • He earned perfect attendance
  • He received an award for being on the high honor roll

Brock's kindergarten year flew by for me. He is an amazing student and had to put up with a flaky teacher. I came to the conclusion that she loved her classroom pets a bit too much, allowed the class too much freedom and when they got too loud, she was quick to take away their recess time. (like that 's going to help the situation). It got old when Brock came home weekly for a month straight saying how they missed out on recess at least 2-3 times each week. He would get especially frustrated because he is a good listener and is quick to obey but had to suffer with the entire classes rowdiness. When I told Brock it sounded like his teacher needed a break he said she was going to take one... The next day he had a substitute and his teacher never returned!!! I'm still a little confused about her health problems she was unable to discuss leading her to miss the last 3-4 weeks of school but Brock's substitutes loved him and we received much praise from one who saw us at church one day.

The kids sang us a few songs and they passed out only a couple certificates but Brock was excited to have us visit him in his classroom.
  • perfect attendance
  • kindergarten completion

Troy's big year end project included research, costume (wax museum), and diorama of an animal of his choice. He is my rattlesnake expert.
