Our neighborhood has a driveway alley road on a slight downhill that separates our backyard from our neighbors backyard. One evening a few of the neighbor kids found any toy with wheels and ripped the alley apart.
Crew so handsome for his first day going to church.
Troy participated in a week long scout day camp and came home with some fun projects. His birdhouse fit nicely in our little tree and he anxiously waited for it to get some occupants.
And another project. We can grow grass my friends.
I stink at selfies and usies. But we all fit in the frame.
Cael's first drawing of a person. In orange, of course.
This Tonka has been with us since Troy was one-year-old. It's a little rusty, has a few dents and scratches, but it has been loved by each of the Johnson boys. I try not to get attached to tangible items, but I thought I was going to cry when I realized our neighbors packed it up with their things when they moved to Georgia. When my mom was here, she, Jer and I jumped on amazon, eBay, and anywhere else these tonka's are sold because I was determined to replace it. I decided that instead of paying shipping for a new truck, I'd just ask my old neighbor to mail it back and I offered to pay shipping. We were all happy to see this silly tonka back in our possession. It has had another busy summer working in the dirt and driving at high speeds up and down the sidewalk. I think I'll have to keep it forever now.
My little guys running home for the night.
Troy has always admired Eli Bell. After seeing a picture she shared with us of a layered cake she made, Troy decided to give cake baking a whirl. He put a lot of love into his cake and we all got to enjoy his hard work.
As parents don't we love when we catch our kids doing what they should be doing, even when they don't think they're being watched? During Retreat one night I quickly snapped a picture as my boys stood in a line as the flag was being lowered for the day.
