Floating Through Fiesta

(posted Jan 24, 2018)

The boys weren't allowed to make individual valentine boxes in either school, WA or TX. Instead of bringing a box from home, the teachers always had them decorate a sack during class time.

BUT, Texas celebrates this thing called "Fiesta". Fiesta is a huge celebration that lasts at least a week. I believe it started as a way of remembering the fallen from the battle at the Alamo? The 1st graders got to make a float at home for the fiesta parade. It makes up for not being able to make valentine boxes, I guess? Here's Brock float...go army! (and thanks for the inspiration, Pinterest!)

The float spectators:

Brock's little buddy, Indie, watched the parade with her parents since her sister (the boy's other good friend), Eden, was in the same class as Brock.
