Pity Party for Lacy

(posted Jan 24, 2018)

I went through a rough span for at least a year, or two, make that three. I was supposed to wear full-leg, over the STOMACH ted hose when I was pregnant with Crew because I had horrible circulation --which I blame on our move to TX. Not kidding, my ankle turned purple the day after we started unpacking our things in our new home. My legs got much better after Crew was born, but then I had an unusually long recovery from the c-section. It was expected since it was my fourth. Right at the six week mark when I was able to start exercising and live normally, I pulled a lower ab muscle which set me back at least another month.

I repeatedly had knee swelling which wasn't a new issue; the rheumatologist I was seeing in WA for my seronegative arthritis said it was just a little fluid and he wasn't able to do anything about it. My knees would swell horribly in Texas! Both were swollen in this pic, but the left is much more obvious.

Then I had crappy allergies, my pregnancy weight was coming off much slower than it had with my previous babes, I was sick way more than normal, and I got the biggest sty in my eye that I've ever seen. Texas did NOT agree with my body.

Hey, my allergies finally cleared up. Lets just smack this face with a painful sty. Allergies, sty, great reasons to not wear any makeup i guess.

I was tired of my long stringy hair and treated myself to a fresh cut and color. This ended up costing way more than I bargained for. Since I was always on post during the time school got out for when my boys got home, I had no idea there was a school zone right outside of post. The school was no where near the road! See where this is going? So, I'm heading home and was going 5 mph over the usual speed limit. I got pulled over for driving 20 OVER the school zone limit (insert tears right here.) Needless to say, my first speeding ticket was only $275. I'm still crying over that one.

My boys joke about it, I sold our kitchen table this same week to start clearing out for our move to Idaho. The funny little farts say I had to sell our kitchen table to pay for my ginormous ticket. whatever.

Fast forward two months from when I had my hair cut. I found one day that I had my own natural little peek-a-boo, which I only noticed because I went with a balayge color so my roots were longer than they had been in many many years.

I'm talking about a patch of GRAY hair! I was so surprised! It's only in a small section, about the diameter of a penny, so it make for a fun little peek-a-boo. I'm totally ok with it. It hasn't spread at all in the past two years:)
