Our boys were already in bed for the night so Jer and I were downstairs watching tv when we suddenly heard a crazy loud sound upstairs. We ran upstairs and the sound was coming from the roof. We went back downstairs and saw that Troy woke up from the noise; Jer looked outside and saw huge ice chunks falling from the sky! Troy and Jer grabbed a couple that were right outside of our door and we started snapping pics like everyone else in San Antonio because we couldn't believe the size of the hail!
The hail storm was apparently the costliest in US history and hail larger than the size of baseballs were reported. Our vehicles were under a carport and a tree and ended up with some small dents. We checked our windows after the storm passed and thought we were good until the next day when I saw Crew's bedroom window had a chunk of glass broken out in the bottom corner. I reported it to the housing offices, we sealed it up with cardboard, but because of all of the damage throughout FSH they never made it out to fix the window until three months after we had moved and finally got the email for the completed work order! We were told there was a huge glass shortage because of the demand.
Troy would be the first to tell you that he has a large mouth but even the hail couldn't fit in there! We put them in the freezer to show Brock and Cael the next day.
Thanks for more crazy memories, Texas.
