Uh-Oh Oreo

The best part of an Oreo cookie? The cream filling, of course! When I was really young and would visit my Grandpa and Grandma Moser, I remember they always had Oreos in their cookie drawer. This was before the glorious double stuff option was available, but I would carefully separate the cookie, scrape off and eat the cream with my little chompers, then throw away both chocolate cookies (not in the trash hidden under the sink, but in the open kitchen hallway can (doh!)). Once Grandma found out what I had been up to, I was quickly taught that if you take a cookie, you eat the whole cookie. I don't think I ate too many Oreos after my wastefulness was discovered.

Fast forward close to 20 years. We were at my parent's house, sitting around the table eating some Oreo cookies. My Dad caught me taking two double stuff cookies, removing one side of the sandwich from each to create a delicious quadruple stuff cookie. Everyone does this, right? Well, this leaves two plain chocolate cookies. At the time I had a cute little red headed baby who was like a garbage disposal (my babies are good eaters). So, I slipped these two plain cookies onto Brock's plate because, you know, I don't eat them plain. Brock picked them up and showed those cookies who's boss. I wasn't expecting my dad to be watching; but like any good grandpa would say, he promised me that he would let Brock know when he was older that his mom deprived him of the cream filling. You'd almost think I did this to Troy, too, because that crazy kid doesn't like to eat Oreos?!? Brock just giggles when I tell him the story:)

This little boy helped himself to a bag of golden Oreos. Just as I should expect, he ate the good part and left the rest. Since then Jeremy taught him to dunk "the rest" in milk and he's a fan. If only I liked to drink milk!
