Eye, Eye, Matey. Look at Me Eye Patch

It was once again time for an eye checkup for the little guy. He'll be getting new glasses soon with just a slight prescription change. His weak eye has started to turn inward even while wearing glasses, to our surprise since we hadn't even noticed. So Cael gets to wear an eye patch for a few months, two hours/day. There's a chance he'll need surgery but I'm hoping the patching will do the job.

I thought it was so cute how Cael cooperated and did everything the ophthalmologist asked him to do.

He had his pupils dilated and during the drive home I pointed out a firetruck while we were stopped at a stoplight. Without his Rx glasses, he pulled down his shades to try to see the firetruck but it was so bright he couldn't handle it.

After such a big afternoon, he fell asleep on the short drive home. (I was at a stop sign... hands free peeps)

He wears his patch well. I was worried about him not liking it but he hasn't had any problems. His only concern he's voiced is that the little two-yr-old neighbor girl might try to pull it off. She tends to go after his glasses.
